Our History
The name Waters has a long-standing association with the area's insurance industry, beginning with William Waters. In the 1940s, William served as vice president of Westfield Insurance Company, previously known as Ohio Farmers and a present-day leading carrier. In 1964, William's son, Robert, founded Waters Insurance Agency in Parkersburg. In 1987, he sold the agency to his son-in-law, Ray Fanta, and daughter Elizabeth Fanta. Building on the success of WIA, the new owners grew the company through acquisitions in Ripley and St. Marys.
