Helping Tennessee policyholders when they need it the most.

The Tennessee Life and Health Insurance Guaranty Association was created by the Tennessee legislature in July of 1989 to protect state residents who are policyholders and beneficiaries of policies issued by an insolvent insurance company, up to specified limits. The guaranty association is formed to protect policyholders in the event of an insurance company insolvency.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide a safety net for policyholders in the event of an insurance company insolvency. We strive to ensure that policyholders receive the benefits they are entitled to, in accordance with Tennessee law and the language of the insolvent company's policies at the time of insolvency.

Our Services

We provide a range of services to protect policyholders and their beneficiaries. We take over the servicing of insurance company policies, providing coverage to Tennessee residents who are policyholders with an insolvent insurer. We assess and liquidate the assets of the insolvent insurer, ensuring that policyholders receive the benefits they are entitled to.

Our Expertise

With years of experience, we have developed the expertise to handle complex situations and provide a smooth transition for policyholders. Our professionals understand the intricacies of insurance law and work closely with policyholders to ensure they receive the support they need.

Our Protection

We provide protection to individual policyholders and their beneficiaries, typically persons protected by certificates of insurance issued under policies of group life or group health insurance. Our coverage limits are established by state law, and we ensure that policyholders receive the benefits they are entitled to.

Our Coverage

We cover direct individual or direct group life and health insurance policies, as well as individual annuity contracts issued by our member insurers. Our coverage is limited by the terms of the Tennessee Life and Health Insurance Guaranty Association Act (Tenn. Code Ann. Section 56-12-201 et seq) (Part 2).

Our Commitment

We are committed to providing our policyholders with the highest level of service and support. We understand that policyholders are going through a difficult time, and we are dedicated to ensuring that they receive the benefits they are entitled to.
