Workers comp for excavation work is a straight up nightmare in California. Got canceled by two carriers before I even hit my second year. This guys (the agency) actually sat down and listened to how we run our crews and our safety program and found a carrier that would write us without absolutely destroying me on price. They also pulled through on a performance bond for a commercial job when my old broker basically said good luck.
