Our History

The Davis Insurance & Real Estate Agency, Inc. has been a trusted name in north Pacific County since 1953. Founded by Chauncey Davis, our agency began as a small insurance business in the Ogren Building in South Bend. Chauncey's son, James Davis, joined the business in 1957, assisting both with the insurance agency and with Chauncey's Cascara Processing Plant, which he ran until 1972. Recognizing a growing need in the community, Helen, Chauncey's wife, added a real estate division to the agency in 1960. Helen's warm hospitality made her a natural in the real estate world, quickly building a reputation for genuine care and personalized service. In 1970, James built the current office building, a testament to the agency's expanding reach and enduring commitment to its clients. Marrying into the family in 1972, Marion Davis joined the Real Estate division as a bookkeeper, adding another layer of expertise and dedication to the growing business.

Generations of Family Dedication

In 1984, Phil Davis, James' son, took the reins of the family business, becoming the designated broker for the real estate division. Recognizing the unique needs of the community, Phil expanded the office in 1989, creating a dedicated riverside real estate office. This expansion solidified the agency's position as a leader in the real estate market across north Pacific County.
