Our History

Our story began when Terry Goggans established Goggans Insurance Agency in 1987. Initially operating from a small office in Rainsville, Alabama, we quickly gained a loyal client base due to our commitment to providing quality insurance solutions. In 1992, we moved our Rainsville office to its current location, allowing us to better serve our growing customer base.

As our agency expanded, so did the number of insurance companies we represent. This enabled us to offer a wider range of coverages and better serve our clients' diverse needs. In 1996, we opened our Fort Payne branch, marking the beginning of our expansion across Alabama.

The new millennium brought further growth for Goggans Insurance. Gabe and Tonya Goggans joined the agency in 2000 and opened our Scottsboro branch later that year. Shortly after, Josh and Lo Goggans joined the team and began managing our Rainsville office.

We continued to expand our presence in Alabama, opening our Boaz office in 2006 and our Centre branch in September 2007. At the end of 2014, we merged with Insurance World, allowing us to open our sixth branch in northern Fort Payne.

In October 2018, we took a significant step forward by opening a branch in Jasper, Tennessee, marking our expansion into multiple states. This move has enabled us to better serve our customers and provide insurance solutions to a wider audience.

In November 2019, we purchased a building formally used as a bank, and our North Fort Payne branch moved across the street in January 2020 to what we now call The Goggans Insurance building. This new location has given us the opportunity to continue growing and serving our clients with the same level of dedication and expertise they have come to expect from us.
