Our History

Alliance General Insurance was founded in 1982 by Dave Temple. Dave graduated from Iowa State University in 1968 and served in the army in Europe from 1968 to 1971. He began his insurance career in 1973 marketing life insurance for John Hancock, including three years in St. Louis as a sales manager. In 1982, Dave expanded into property and casualty insurance and opened an independent agency that remains today - Alliance General Insurance.

In 2017, Jeff Eastvold purchased Alliance General Insurance from Dave and Cheri Temple. Jeff had worked with Dave and Alliance General back in the early 1990's and Dave continued to be a mentor, friend, and a father-figure in many ways to Jeff. Dave once told Jeff that "if you take care of your customers, they take care of you." He might not have invented that saying, but he perfected it. Jeff, and the rest of the agents at Alliance General Insurance have worked hard to provide the same level of service to our customers that Dave Temple established.
