Our Story

In 1957, our founder, Raymond F. Hickey Sr., created Hickey & Hickey Inc. in downtown New York City, the heart of the Insurance District. After training under a large regional broker, Mr. Hickey decided to build his own smaller firm, focusing on personalized solutions for families and businesses. His determination led to steady growth in the city and beyond, and he eventually purchased four smaller NYC brokers with a wide array of clients including personal lines, real estate, construction, and manufacturing.

Today, Hickey & Hickey Inc. is run by two of Mr. Hickey Sr.'s sons, Raymond F. Hickey Jr. and Michael D. Hickey. Ray joined the business in 1988 after a successful career as a Controller for Health-Tex, and Michael joined in 1992 after working in NYC for a wide range of National Insurance Brokers. The firm continues to be proudly family-owned and run, with third-generation grandchildren also working in the office.
