Our Services
At Hamilton Insurance Agency, we offer a comprehensive range of crop insurance services tailored to the unique needs of our clients. Our expert team has extensive experience in assisting farmers and agricultural professionals in navigating the complexities of crop insurance. We understand that every farm is different, and we take the time to understand each client's needs and goals.
Yield vs Revenue Plans
We offer a range of coverage options, including Yield-Based (YP) and Revenue-Based (RP) plans. Our experts will work with you to determine the best coverage plan for your operation, taking into account factors such as crop type, acreage, and marketing strategies.
Eligibility
Crop insurance is available to a wide range of farmers and agricultural professionals, with the government providing subsidies to make coverage more affordable.
Perils Covered
Our crop insurance policies cover losses due to an act of God, as well as revenue fluctuations. We also offer additional coverage options, such as supplemental replant coverage and prevented planting coverage.
Unit Structure
We offer three coverage options: Basic Unit (BU), Optional Unit (OU), and Enterprise Unit (EU). Our experts will work with you to determine the best unit structure for your operation.
Timely Planting Dates
In Ohio, timely planting dates for corn and beans are June 5 and June 20, respectively, while in Pennsylvania, they are June 10 for both corn and beans. Late planting can result in reduced guarantees.
Replant Payments
Above Basic Unit levels, replant payments provide 8 times the corn price or 3 times the bean price per acre. A 20/20 rule applies, and additional coverage options are available for supplemental replant coverage.
Prevented Planting (PP)
Prevented planting coverage is included in all levels of coverage, paying around 60% of what your normal coverage would have paid on those acres. A 20/20 rule applies, and even small acreages can make a significant difference in your payout.
Billing
Premiums are quoted based on your actual cost, with the Federal subsidy paying approximately 60% of the total premiums. No upfront payments are required, with premiums due after harvest. Accurate acreage reporting is crucial to avoid any issues with your coverage.
At Hamilton Insurance Agency, we take pride in our commitment to providing exceptional customer service, personalized attention, and expert knowledge to our clients. We understand the importance of crop insurance in the agricultural industry and strive to deliver a unique and valuable experience for our clients.
