At the Life Insurance Association of Massachusetts, we have been the voice of the insurance industry in the Bay State for over 48 years. We are a trade association that represents some of the nation's leading life, long term care, and disability income insurers. Our mission is to represent the collective membership and advocate for positions that establish and maintain a favorable business climate in which our member companies can prosper.

Our History

The Life Insurance Association of Massachusetts was established in 1974. For the past 50 years, we have helped life insurers navigate their way in the Bay State. Insurers doing business in Massachusetts have long faced a complicated mix of existing laws, regulations, and unprecedented new legislative proposals. Through it all, we have been a powerful collective voice for the industry and a respected and effective advocate for our members.
