Three-Step Claim Process

1. Download & Complete Notice of Claim: We provide a simple physician's notice of claim form that must be completed and sent to us. Please complete the form carefully, attach copies of any relevant letters or legal documents, and send the form via USPS, FedEx, or UPS for tracking purposes.

2. Contact Our Claims Department: If you need assistance or are unsure about the claims notification process, feel free to contact our claims department. We are here to help and guide you through the best practices for defending your case and complying with your policy terms.

3. Mail Form & Required Documents: Ensure that Healthcare Professionals Insurance Company has received your form and supporting documents by sending them via USPS, FedEx, or UPS. These methods provide receipts and tracking opportunities.

NYS Section 18 Program

The NYS Section 18 Program, passed in 1986 as part of the Medical Malpractice Reform Act, offers additional coverage for medical malpractice insurance to doctors, surgeons, and dentists. This program provides an additional $1 million per incident and $3 million aggregate coverage. The policy is an occurrence policy with no tail required at the conclusion. Effective July 1, 2017, Healthcare Professionals Insurance Company no longer offers excess liability coverage. However, we have made arrangements with Medical Liability Mutual Insurance Company (MLMIC) to continue providing quality excess liability coverage for our clients.
