Our History
Lester Insurance Group has a rich history dating back to 1880 under the S.F. Ewald Insurance Agency. Throughout the years, we have undergone mergers and buyouts, eventually becoming the Lester Insurance LLC we know today. In 2013, Steve Lester II, the fifth generation in the Lester Family to be in the insurance industry, led the agency. We expanded further in 2014 with the purchase of The Harper Agency of Burlington, NC, which dates back to 1947. In 2017, we acquired Cox Insurance of Winchester, VA, expanding our niche in commercial trucking insurance.
