This unique structure allows us to make decisions that benefit our members directly. Our board members are local members of the community, ensuring that we stay connected to the needs of our policyholders.

We offer a range of services including Farm Insurance, Homeowners Insurance, and Liability Insurance. Our FarMate Policy provides property insurance for your home and household property, as well as farm buildings and personal property. The Farm-Guard Policy protects you against accidents, injuries, or claims of negligence arising from your farming operation. Lastly, our Home-Guard Policy offers comprehensive coverage for your home and personal property, including personal liability.

Our History

Hamlet Mutual Fire and Lightning Insurance Company was founded in 1875 by a group of farmers at the Hamlet Hall in Hamlet, Illinois. Today, we operate with a staff of seven, including management, adjusting personnel, and four full-time in-house agents. Over the years, we've expanded our coverage to seven counties and are reinsured by Grinnell Mutual Reinsurance Company. Despite our growth, we remain committed to maintaining our tradition of excellent coverage, service, and prompt settlement of claims.

Meet Our Staff

At Hamlet Mutual Insurance Company, we're proud of our dedicated team. Clint Huffstutler serves as our Secretary / Treasurer, while Ann Jahn and Jolee Franks are our Agents. Annie Palmer handles underwriting and bookkeeping duties, and Abel Castor is our Assistant Secretary / Treasurer. Stan Boruff rounds out our team as an Adjuster. Each member brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to ensure that our policyholders receive the best possible service.
