Our History

Seehusen Insurance Agency was founded in 1961 by Steve Seehusen. Steve ran the agency for two decades until his son, Bruce Seehusen, joined the firm in 1981. The father-son duo worked side-by-side until Steve's passing in 1996. Bruce then led the agency for the next 25 years, joined by colleagues Randy Rouse in 1998 and Tracy Schroeder in 2000. In June of 2022, Bruce decided to partner with First MainStreet Insurance to bring additional resources to the Seehusen client community.

First MainStreet Insurance L.C. (FMSI), headquartered in Cedar Rapids, IA, was established in 2017 by like-minded individuals who recognized the value of sustaining small town insurance agencies and their local legacies. FMSI focuses on smaller agencies, many of them family-run organizations, to perpetuate their traditions and enhance their offerings.
