Our Story

At Monarch E&S Insurance Services, we have a rich history of providing exceptional service to our customers and partners. Founded in 1986, our mission is to underwrite insurance risks profitably for our partner insurance carriers and provide quality insurance markets and unsurpassed service to our primary customers - Retail Insurance Brokers. We aim to protect our insurance markets and help our insurance brokers grow and retain their respective books of business.

Our success is built on the foundation of our talented employees, who are insurance professionals, whom we strive to treat fairly and retain by providing a positive work environment and generous benefit programs. With a national footprint, we are licensed in every state and are always interested in opportunities to expand our insurance producer base.

Our History

Monarch E&S Insurance Services has a long and illustrious history. We started as a small operation in Burbank, California in 1986, built on treating our customers with unmatched service. Our motto, "You'll Get the Royal Treatment, " means something at Monarch. Over the years, we have grown into a leading managing general agency and excess and surplus lines wholesale brokerage.

Our geographic footprint expanded nationally by partnering with Agents Access in January 2019, creating our Monarch Southeast branch, and Special Risks Limited in January 2020, creating our Monarch Northeast branch. In December 2021, Monarch partnered with A&M, which now enables us to provide exclusive personal lines product offerings to our customers.

As a full-service MGA and Wholesale Brokerage, retail insurance brokers have access to many different lines of business through Monarch's Commercial, EQ/Flood, and Personal Lines departments. We have a team of dedicated professionals who work tirelessly to ensure that our customers receive the best possible service.

Our Leaders

Our leadership team is composed of experienced professionals who are dedicated to our mission. Our CEO, Derek Borisoff, has over 25 years of experience in the insurance industry and has been with Monarch E&S Insurance Services for over 25 years. Derek has held various positions with increasing authority throughout his career, starting his senior year at The University of Southern California (USC) as a NAPSLO intern. Derek's over-all business philosophy is that success comes from supporting the people who support your business.

Our President, Yiana Stavrakis, joined Monarch E&S Insurance Services in 2020. Yiana is a significant contributor to the company's national expansion and is instrumental to the ongoing growth and strategy of Monarch. Before joining Monarch, Yiana was Chief Sales Officer for Specialty Program Group, providing strategic sales and marketing guidance to acquired business partners.
