Welcome to the Tennessee Insurance Guaranty Association (TIGA), a non-profit organization created in 1971 to provide a safety-net for Tennessee policyholders and claimants in the event of a property and casualty insurance company insolvency. Our mission is to protect Tennessee companies and residents who purchase insurance from an insurance company licensed in the state of Tennessee.
Our History
TIGA was established to provide a mechanism for the payment of covered claims under certain insurance policies, aiming to avoid excessive delay in payment and financial loss to claimants or policyholders due to insurer insolvency. Our organization is managed on a day-to-day basis by an Executive Secretary who reports to a five-person board of directors composed of member companies.
